Hi, I’m Manon and I’m planning to start freshman year at UVA and was wondering if there were any female Muslims looking for a roommate. The religion of my roommate isn’t a concern for me, but I’m worried that our differences in lifestyle will make us both uncomfortable (i.e. bringing boys into the dorm, drinking/smoking, me waking up at 5am to pray, etc). I was born and raised in northern VA and I’m of Pakistani descent. I’m a pretty chill, laid-back person and I’m very open-minded, albeit a tad old-fashioned. I do pray 5 times a day and fast during Ramadan, as well as eat halal. If anyone’s interested, you can respond to this thread and perhaps we can talk on Facebook. (:
You should join the class Facebook group! You’ll find so many more students there. 
Thanks for the advice! I have joined both the class of 2019 fb group and a group for a female roommate search, but hesitated posting there because I couldn’t find anyone who shared my relatively conservative lifestyle. Perhaps I’ll post there and see if anyone replies, although this thread is still open.
