@b@r!um: I’m not close to them, I barely know them and my family will pay them for them to let me stay at their house, it’s not free, but it’s definitely cheaper than living elsewhere I think. I don’t know too much about visa paper work but I’ve already been in the states with a student visa and my family lived there for more than a decade so I don’t see why I wont get it again.
@paul2752: as I said ^ they are family but we’re not close to them at all plus so I don’t see any possibility of them giving me money.
To get your visa you need to demonstrate that you have the money available to cover the Cost of Attendance. Can your parents do that?
Of course once you get here, if you find a cheap place to live (like with relatives), then you won’t have to spend quite as much money as the college/university has estimated your COA could be.
If your parents can’t demonstrate that they can cover the COA, then your relatives are going to have to be willing to present documentation that they will house you.
@happymomof1 okay yes, my family can prove we have the money to cover COA but I won’t spend all of it and just live with my relatives, thanks for making it clear.
