Looking for small LACs on West Coast or in MA/FL

I'm a high school junior girl who is interested in biology, and I'm hoping to become an occupational therapist. I live in Oregon, but have family in Massachusetts and Florida and wouldn't mind going to school over there with them. Money is an issue, and I would only be able to afford one trip home per year aside from coming home for the summer.

I have a 4.0 UW and got a 1990 on the SAT (retaking in March). I've also played varsity softball since freshman year, volunteer regularly (more than 100 hours yearly, probably 3 hours most weeks), am in NHS, and will have taken 5 AP classes by the time I graduate ("most demanding" at my school). My test scores are really the only thing I'm worried about in this category. I'm also taking the ACT this April and am hoping that'll go better than the SAT.

I'm really interested in Macalester, but the distance may be a problem. I'm also looking very heavily at University of Puget Sound and Whitman. My biggest reach is Wellesley College.

What other colleges should I be looking at? I'd like to find a small LAC with a strong science program (neuroscience or microbio would be amazing, but I'm not picky about that-- just a good biology department) that is either a car ride away from Portland, or in Massachusetts or southern Florida. Sorry for being so jumpy, it's still somewhat early in my search and I'd really just love to hear your suggestions!

Wheaton College -MA
Mt Holyoke - MA
Hampshire College - MA

If worried about test scores visit fair test dot org for list of test optional schools.

In FL, there is New College, Flagler, Rollins and Eckerd.

Willamette University in Salem, OR has a good biology department.

Pacific Lutheran in Tacoma, WA is strong in sciences also. I think it is about a 2 hour drive from Portland OR

might look at Holy Cross-very good LAC with strong science programs. HC(don’t have to be religious) has nice campus 1 hour from Boston, is SAT optional and offers good financial aid. Holy Cross website is informative.

Strong Science would say Reed to me.
