Calculus BC, if taken as a one year course immediately after completing precalculus, covers material at about the same speed as an actual college calculus course, unlike some other AP courses which take a whole year to cover what is ordinarily one semester’s worth of material in a college course.
Congratulations on reaching a decision for the twins and making it through to almost the end of senior year. The AP teachers usually have something planned for those classes once the exams are done.
Well it’s an easy cruise to the end of June now. Both girls wrapped up AP exams last week so just basically doing busy work “projects” in class for the next five weeks. Seems silly, but they finally get to enjoy a bit of senior year without stressing anyway. Deposits are in and hotels are booked for drop off. It’s going to be a bittersweet summer, but I’m very excited for the adventures that await them. The oldest of the two is headed to Debate Nationals later this week. As I dropped her off at school today, she told me she was entering a NY Times essay contest where the finalists have a shot at getting published in the Sunday Magazine. She aims high, and she certainly has the chops for it. Love these girls!
