Looks like Im going to RISD, how did everyone else do?

<p>Finally got my packet from RISD in last friday. here is the break down, im sure everyone is aware of the costs. I was awarded no gov aid (I made too much money last year), recieved merit scholarships from all 3 and gov loans from all 3 and here is the amounts.</p>

<p>note that the gov loans are included in total
SAIC offered 15k merit scholarship and 4k in SAIC grant: total reward of 26k per year</p>

<p>MICA offered 19k merit scholarship and 2k in MD grant: total reward of 35k per year</p>

<p>RISD offered 32k merit scholarship: total reward 42k per year</p>

<p>Im a little upset SAIC did not offer me any more, because i fell in love with chicago. and MICA offered me a good deal i guess but honestly im sick of living in baltimore and all my friends go there. I was surprised RISD offered me that much, Providence is gorgeous but super boring (Im used to a lot of night life being 27 and from Baltimore).</p>

<p>How did everyone else fare with their packages and where are u guys going?</p>

<p>Congrats! That is awesome. My gpa was good, but I guess my portfolio wasn’t strong enough for RISD.</p>

<p>It would be hard to turn down the amount of free money that RISD is offering you. It still leaves you with 10K/year in loans which is a lot, but not as scary as the other loan total of 14K/year for MICA and all the unmet need from SAIC. </p>

<p>Awesome! Do you mind posting your portfolio? I’m doing a bit of portfolio research to see what schools like RISD look for, since I intend on applying to art schools when I’m finished with my AFA in two semesters.</p>
