Loosing scholarship

I lost my 4 year full ride scholarship for non-academic reason. Do I have any chances and where -if-yes- to get scholarships for the school yer being already in progress

I think you need to tell the school that you’ll need to withdraw if financial help cannot be found. and then reapply to all new schools as an incoming frosh.

If you try to limp along with loans, etc, you’ll probably end up dropping out because at some point you won’t have enough funding/loans…and big loans are a bad idea anyway.

I highly doubt, unless this is a full need school, that at this point you’ll get much funding. If the school does promise to meet need, then you’ll have to also likely file CSS Profile.

Seriously, tomorrow go to the office and get info. Be prepared to tell them that you’ll have to completely withdraw if a LOT of money isn’t given.

How much will your parents pay each year?

First post says he’s a sophomore so can’t apply for freshman scholarships.

I think going into the FA office tomorrow with the attitude that you will probably exit the building as medically withdrawn is the best thing you can do for yourself at this point. You need to be mentally prepared for this possibility.

It could turn out that funding has already covered this semester. If so, you need to know if it has to be reimbursed due to your medically no longer qualifying for the scholarship or if once disbursed for the semester, it is still a available to you for that semester. Ask the FA office if they can help you understand these issues. You need to ask and make sue your are making fully informed decisions. Don’t assume anything.

You should also probably spend today investigating schools that offer transfer scholarships and be prepared to start applying as a transfer student for next yr. (This suggestion is in hope that this semester’s scholarship is still available to you and you’ll be busy with your fall semester. I don’t know how transfer scholarships work. Do you need to apply in the fall for the best scholarships like freshman applicants? I have no idea, but I would research so that you know the answer just in case.)

Oh shoot…missed that.

Well, all he can do is tell his school that he’ll have to withdraw if they can’t come up with the money…unless his parents will pay (not borrow a ton).

Many expensive schools that do NOT give much aid have generous ROTC scholarships so this may be one of those schools. Borrowing to pay for the last 3 years of college is a bad idea.
