I have always had a dream of studying in US since I was in grade 8. I had been doing quite well in my high school. But as soon as my junior year of high school arrived. I was appointed as a school prefect and then promoted to School Captain. My grades feel a bit. And I have got an avg. of around 70%, though I have been getting straight As for past 3 years. As soon as i started researching about universities I realized school grades play a really really important role. It has somehow a bit shattered my hopes. I still have 3-4 exams left, my junior years final exam which has 100 marks for each subject and then 3 exams of my senior year till i start applying, I think I can improve there. I hope I can still work on it and realize my dream....

You did look up on colleges other than those that are in the top 20? There are hundreds of colleges in the U.S. that accommodates students of all grades. Many, if not most, colleges in the U.S. admit those who have C average and even D average.

yeah there are colleges other than top 20 on my list. I have pretty decent EC i hope my SAT scores will help. I have U of Arizona and U of Florida. Though I have U of Michigan too. U of Minnesota , Purdue and University of texas @ austin

You might also want to look just a wee bit lower on the prestige scale...just for safety. No offense, but a 2.0 is still pretty low for some of those colleges.

Most public state schools accept a LOT of applicants...even ones with a lower GPA. Take the SAT/ACT and see how your scores are, they may help offset your GPA in some cases.
