Lost and confused transfer student

I’m putting a lot of hope into bars now, even though they told me not to. Basically, the freshman class is coming in the next week, and if a handful of them don’t show up, enough financial aid will free up and I’m in.

I think evergreen is a bit too unconventional for me, as well as not academic enough. Part of not wanting to go to a large state school is not wanting to be around so many people that end up blowing it off.

That should read “I’m putting a lot of my hope into bard now.”

On a tangent of evergreen, what do you think of Whitman?

I have very limited knowledge of Whitman. It seems to compete with a lot of competitive LAC’s but is held back by the out-of-the-way location. A friend’s son was disappointed in the engineering 3/2 program: It wound up being a 4/2 experience. He seemed to really like the school, but the parents were upset at the extra tuition and the greater than expected difficulty in getting transferred. A friend’s daughter is starting this fall in Bio, but no first hand report on her experience yet. (Also, the outgoing president of Whitman is now president of Evergreen, but it’s too soon to say how he will change that school.)

Good luck with Bard. I hope it all works out for you.

I got depression and don’t have a bachelors degree (yet?). I’m almost 22. Most of my peers graduated last June.

Any other advice is welcome

Any other schools that I may like?
