Lot's of great things happening for UF's MBA Program

Carnegie Mellon devours UF. Just an FYI.

Let's assume the UF homers are right, that UF rules all and that they have psychic/prophetic abilities. Heck, let's assume the OP has made a time machine and he knows that five years in the future UF is ranked as the number 8 b-school in the country.

I still don't understand why this thread is here.

Don't feed the troll...

Lets see...UF stdent aren't as accomplished as the other schools I lsted, right. If you consider this a "Joke", I giess you're right

CLASS OF 2008 PROFILE
Average Age: 29
Average Experience: 5 years
Median GMAT: 680 (oh, by the way- HGHER than UNC and Texas and = to Cornell)
Average GPA: 3.45

There are the numbers-in plane English, easy to understand. Look at ANY school from 17-100, UF quality is Just as good or better than ANY of them. If you don't like UF and you feel the need to spread your own negative propaganda about the school, that's fine. What isn't fine is lying by making just bad statements about student quality. Ugh, why must you resort to that?

Hey Red Sox:
New York fan DEVOURS red sox fan...just an FYI

Look up Hubris, will ya. BluedevilMike is right, only time will tell.

UF is not just a sports empire. Look at the famous alumni list:

List of University of Florida people - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This doesn't make it equivalent to a top school. I looked at individuals profiles and resumes and found them to have less experience than individuals from top schools. Of course, there would be a few that were well above the average age (ie 40), which could skew the averages. Regardless, I certainly wouldn't base my decision on a simple average.

So they are taking quality students and helping them achieve what? Lower salaries? 65k is good for undergrad (at least it was in 2001)...but MBA? How many candidates are making significantly less than that prior to going back to school?

These two guys are drunk off the UF cool-aid. Let them go...

Actually we drink Gatorade not cool-aid.

Trust us, very good things are happening at UF (not just at Warrington, but across the board). Just give us a second look is all that we ask. The days of us being the whipping boy for Duke & Berkeley grads are over.

LOL... right...holy crap that was funny...LMAO

for the record... I'm not saying UF is a bad school...quite the contrary, the b-school has a nice reputation.

But come on get real...comparing UF to Duke, Berkeley, and even Cornell? LOL... (need i say more?)

Brush up on your reading comprehension skills.

I said UF wasn't the whipping boy anymore. That is a hell of alot different than trying to say they are equivalent to Duke & Berkeley.

While you did not come out and say it, you were implying the comparison. Regardless, you don't need my help anymore to make yourself sound even more ridiculous so I'll digress...the general consensus here seems to agree that you guys drank too much gatorade.

Come on now, I knew Warrington was not on par with Fuqua. But the difference between the two is only about 25 spots in the rankings. When that $60 million hits, we should gain some ground. That is all I am saying...

Okay, this is getting ridiculous.

1.) UF might well be improving.
2.) UF might well be very good.
3.) UF might well be very good AND improving.
4.) UF is not a top ten business school.
5.) UF is not in the foreseeable future going to be a top ten business school.
6.) UF is probably an excellent school if you want to stay in Florida.
7.) $60M is better than not having $60M.
8.) Other schools are also doing fundraising.
9.) US News rankings are notoriously unpredictable and even very large fundraising campaigns, at least at the undergraduate and medical school level, do not show an appreciable effect.

10.) This thread should not be on CC, as it is clearly an advertisement. As posts #23 and #28 plead, please let it go.

Gunner.........

mike hit the nail on the head...'nuff said

This is the worst advertisement ever. UF haters must have funded it. TTT for Florida.

O Kay forget about it..Vetor-according to your train of thought, if you go to UF, you might as well go to Devry and save some money. Also, if the world worked according to your view, schools out of the top 20 shouldn't try to improve because no matter the resources, student quality or tenacity of the school, gaining admittance to the "top 20" fraternity violates the laws of physics. Someone points out where Florida is going in the future and you mock him, saying he can "see the future". Well, it's called Forecasting, it's done by all the time and it is somewhat reliable. I'm sure you MUST have been introduced to the concept in your MBA program. Does CAPM ring a bell?

I just disagree with you about schools getting better and sliding up the ranks. It's that simple-you can't make me thing UF is a "joke" and I can't make you believe it isn't.

Bluedevil-if you are so annoyed at the thread, there is a simple answer to it....sure you can figure it out.

ttt agaain, 2 and a half yrs later!
