Low down on SCPS?

Quick rundown:

82 Highschool GPA (2.7-3.0 I guess?) **** kills me cuz I didn't give enough of a **** Freshman and Sophomore years. However, Junior and Senior year were quite strong.

1890 SAT (610 CR, 630 W, 650 M)

Currently enrolled at Penn State Summer Semester where I'm supposed to continue into the Fall, but I'm homesick and want to go to Hofstra for a year, and then try to transfer into NYU. I'll be finishing up the Summer Semester with most likely a 3.66 GPA.

Highschool EC's:

Varsity Volleyball
Varsity Soccer
Varsity Bowling

Clubs:

Everyone United For Africa
AIDS Awareness
Help The Homeless
Cancer Care

Held three jobs, one over the summer, and two of them during the school year. 30 hours a week.

Wrote for Bleacher Report.

I have a very good essay that got me into a bunch of mid-top public schools (Michigan State, Penn State, Illinois, Syracuse, Missouri, etc...)

I'm going to Hofstra for a year. I also don't need any financial aid. If I maintain a 3.8 somehow at Hofstra, coupled with a 3.66 from Penn State, would I be able to get into NYU SCPS for Sports Management as a Transfer applicant, despite my low highschool GPA?

Can any NYU students or alums give any advice/info regarding the SCPS? What kind of GPA is required in order to get in there? I've heard it's one of, if not the easiest school to get into at NYU.

Apparently a 2.75 GPA is the requirement. They no longer ask for letters of recommendation for the undergraduate applicants. SATs and ACTs are not required. A resume with work history is required.

I’m applying and running my luck. I imagine it’s like Columbia’s GS program or Fordham PCS but not as strenuous. I think theirs are more nerve racking to apply to. Hopefully you got accepted already. Deadline is AUGUST 15th if you haven’t applied yet!!!

I should be done with mine this week and sending it off. Every bit helps though to get accepted. I’d focus on the highlights and make sure your personal statement has a lot of conviction and emotion in why NYU…and WHY your major…and your path.

Best of luck to us. ;-)
