Low gpa but good act and ecs, what are my bs md chances?

Hello friends. I am a senior from Louisiana. I went through some stuff my sophomore and freshman year, thus my gpa is low, but i still wanna go to a BS/MD or BA/MD program. Here are my stats.

(Only took Bio, Chem, and U.S. History, self studied the others)

100+ of shadowing doctor
Started model U.N. at my school

Captain of the debate team

wow really strong test scores…i guess u can at least get into vandy… they really like guys who have perfect scores on act/sat

your stats are excellent. just ask your counselor to explain why your grades dropped during those years in his or her recommendation letter for you and colleges will most likely understand. good luck!

You will not get into a guaranteed MD program they are very competitive and your GPA will knock you out of contention. Focus on programs that have a strong feeder path to md.

Do you have an idea of where you stand academically among your peers?
Good EC’s, but GPA is a little too low for competitive BS/MD programs.
NYU, Harvard, and U Mich would all be reaches as well due to your 3.4.

Generally the BS/MD or BA/MD spots are awarded to valedictorians

Thank you fro your response @ClarinetDad16 , but I’m not sure of the factual integrity of that statement. I know many people who have gotten in to programs out of there state who have not been valedictorians or even close.
