Low GPA - Going back for Masters

Graduated in Petroleum Engineering back in May 2016, stupidly jack lacked around my last two years and let my gpa fall because I figured I’d still have lots of offers since the industry was still hot, even with my 2.38 gpa.

Well, shit hit the fan. Now, I’ve picked up a few Sales Engineer jobs for a year here and there, but no engineering entry jobs or any luck anywhere besides that. I’ve realized it time to go back and get my Masters, maybe then I’ll repair my gpa somewhat and I’ll be able to find just a decent job.

I’d really enjoy something like Environmental Engineering. I just finished applying to an Environmental Science masters which I think I’ll be accepted to a a nearby school… But it’s a bit less then I had hoped. I’d really like the Engineering aspect if I’m able to find a program that would accept me.

Does anyone know of any schools with an Environmental Engineering program that might accept lower gpa’s with a higher GRE? I take the GRE on the 14th and I’ve been studying a couple months now, so I’m hoping I can at least get a little upside there. I’ve got some good letters of recommendation. But there aren’t any schools here in Louisiana that offer the masters in Environmental Engineering. So any suggestions would be appreciated. I’ll shoot the advisor an email and see what he has to say.

guess I should add that I’m not interested in going back for my masters in Petroleum, not only are all the schools overcrowded and requirements inflated, but I want a different career path.
