I do not fully understand QB either. My understanding is with QB you can list a 1, but it still is quite a risk that one will match to a different school. Hopefully OP can explain

True - but if you don’t match to #1, I’d assume you’re not getting in.

If you have an EFC of $0 - and too many think they’re going to pay $0 which isn’t necessarily true - to me, it’s don’t chase away the golden goose.

But if, for example, UF or UCF, etc. were #2 over other QB partners, I’d understand.

But given the OP had mentioned QB but then not applying and it’s too late for this year - I didn’t know if he was a Junior, etc. or overall status and was just trying to suss it out.

I wish OP luck - however it ends.

I don’t believe that it’s mandatory to rank more than one school, however.

I suggest you take a look at Hamilton. It would be a great addition to your college list, not just a place to keep in mind for the summer program.

One doesn’t have to rank any schools in QB. Regardless the QB deadline has passed so there’s no reason to criticize OP for not applying, or discuss how it may have played out. And yes, green card holders/perm residents can apply to QB.

OP was invited to Swat’s fly-in program so that will be an advantage.

Make sure to get your Miami app in for EA and any of the other Florida apps that have EA/rolling admissions.

I second many of the schools in Austennut and tsbna’s post. Not all of them tho, that’s too many essays. Pick a handful after doing some research and virtual admissions sessions. Good luck.

ETA. Make sure to mention you are Latino in your essays and/or activities.

I think you have as good a shot at Swarthmore as any I’ve seen this year
but of course it’s such a selective college that getting in is unpredictable.
UMiami probably isn’t the vibe you’re looking for if Swarthmore is your ideal.
Perhaps Carleton, UChicago, Wesleyan? I’d add Vassar and Connecticut College too. Seconding Hamilton and Grinnell.
Wondering if Holy Cross would be of interest.
Seconding St Olaf as an “easier to get into, meet need, strong in science” college – apply EA; register with “join our mailing list” and click on the emails they send you, opening the links you find interesting.
In Florida, you have Wilkes Honors College that may work. UF, FSU, UCF Honors, too (apply to any public FL college’s honors college). However BF isn’t enough to cover cost of attendance and room&board is pretty expensive.
Which fly-ins, beside Swarthmore’s, have you been invited to?
