Low SSAT score - any possible schools

My son is interested in attending boarding school. He has all A's except Spanish and is in eighth grade. We started this process late not realizing all the planning needed. His SSAT is in the low 40th percentile. He skipped a lot of questions. He is interested in going to a military boarding school. He had strong teacher recommendations from what the teachers told me.

Assuming he takes the test again and scores about the same are there any schools that might be viable options?

None of the military boarding schools report their average SSAT score, so I assume they are more forgiving on that.

FYI, for a list of schools.
You can sort them by different criteria-- make sure to click on “Military schools”

I guess that the leadership potential should play a more important role than SSAT scores at military boarding schools. All the best!
