<p>DS received letter from SPA today via snail mail. (mailed from TN to OHIO)</p>

<p>Congratulations to the semifinalists! Someone pointed out earlier that the letter says being named semi does not necessarily mean you will receive a scholarship. There are quite a few scholarships, but there are also quite a few more semifinalists than there are scholarships. My D was a semifinalist last year, but she did not get a scholarship. She did, however, get a Best Buy scholarship. In other words, don't be discouraged if you don't get one or another scholarship ... you never know which one might be your lucky one! Keep filling out those forms & think positive thoughts. :)</p>
