Lowest GPA that you've heard of getting into MIT?

This isn’t one of those chance threads or anything, but I am curious about any stories of people with low GPAs who got in.

18.47 on a scale of 4

Just kidding. I don’t know because gpa is completely dependent on the high school. A 4.0 at one school may be just as difficult to get as a 3.7 at another school. Weighted gpa is all over the place. Some schools have a scale of 100, some 5.0, and my school has a 6.0 scale.

4.57/5.00 from my school (where a 4.7 is an A- in an honors/ap class, 4.3 is a B+)

As an MIT student, I don’t know. No one really cares about HS GPA once enrolled, and I’ve rarely heard conversations about HS GPA.
