Daughter was accepted with Presidential Scholarship. 30 ACT, rank: top 2% in graduating class, tons of AP courses, nice EC, very good recommendations, some leadership. I am worried that if she doesn’t maintain a 3.0 with her difficult classes, she will lose the scholarship and then she will have to transfer because we won’t be able to afford the full cost of tuition. She is very excited though. She did get other scholarships from other schools but this one is the biggest so far.
Weird that the presidential scholarship wasn’t exactly the same… 25-27k. Odd.
I applied regular decision but got notified of my acceptance on January 12th, do you think I can still apply to honors by the RD deadline?
My S was accepted but we haven’t yet visited. We are planning a visit to the campus. Can anyone share some advice regarding their experience if they have visited? Would like info about the surrounding area, the dorms, campus activity etc. Please share. Thank you.
@xaviermom2017 I visited a few months ago. The campus is very contained. Everything is all together and theres tons of kids around. Dorms were really big compared to some other schools I visited. The surrounding area is not the best though
Thank you @a20171
My son is a recent Loyola Maryland graduate. I grew up in a major East Coast city and went to high school and college in the city. For a city campus Loyola is quite beautiful. The Evergreen campus feels like a suburban campus even though it lies in the City of Baltimore. The York Road side of campus definitely is sketchy. The other three sides of campus are quite nice. Roland Park and the nearby area south of campus have a number of multimillion dollar homes and upscale apartment houses. I felt the Loyola campus was quite safe. Like any city campus one needs to use good judgment when venturing out at night.
My D is a junior at Loyola and has lived on the west (Roland Park) side of campus all three years. This year she lives in a huge suite with four other girls: three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large common room and a full kitchen. Definitely the nicest dorms of any we saw on our tours. She is very happy at Loyola.
