Loyola University Maryland EA Class of 2021

I don’t think this is made yet, so here it is

i guess we can mutually be nervous until they release decisions, and then post results for the benefit of future applicants

I wonder when we will hear something.

I think january 15, something like that

Loyola tweeted: @queenlauren Completed Early Action applicants will hear back ASAP (hopefully pre-Xmas), but definitely before Jan 15! RD is April 1.

I hope we hear soon! It’s the only early action school I have not heard back from

Son accepted with 25k presidential scholarship into business program. 3.83. SAT 1480 out of 1600. All the other stuff too. We’ve never visited but planning on going to an accepted student day. Also we’re not Catholic, will that matter? 3 of the 7 school he applied to were catholic schools-Fordham, Fairfield and Loyola. He received acceptances to all this past week. All 3 seem similar to me so can’t wait to visit and learn more about Loyola.

S was accepted. No money. But, we are happy with the acceptance. His SAT just didn’t hit home.

Accepted!! ACT: 25 GPA: 3.7 lots of honors, APs and Extracurriculars

@VirginiaDare Not being Catholic will not be an issue. There are many students on campus of different - or no - faiths. Now, there is religious symbology prominent on campus, some classes are taught by clergy, and there will be courses requiring readings from prominent Catholic theologists, so if that would make your son uncomfortable that could be an issue. (There will also be readings from other viewpoints - in one class D had they read excerpts from the Koran as well as holy books from other faiths).

The Catholic schools your son has applied to are all Jesuit-run institutions, which means they are on the liberal end as far as Catholicism goes. Jesuits welcome questions and challenges and love a good discussion and debate. Critical thinking is more important than indoctrination.
