LSAT Preparation?

Hey all,

My LSAT prep class begins next Monday, but I am already taking two (somewhat difficult) classes this summer. I've heard that LSAT classes take up at least 20 hours a week (in class and independent study) - is this true? I know the LSAT is the heaviest metric used by law school admissions boards and I don't want to jeopardize my score by overworking myself. Any recommendations/thoughts?

Can you drop one of your other summer classes? It might give you more time to study. Also, I didn't take an LSAT class but studied out of some books for a few months. I only devoted about 7 hours a week to the studying and I did just fine. I don't know how much time you spend in the LSAT class itself, but 20 hours seems a bit exorbitant.

While 20 hours a week may seem a bit over the top, I do think that a very heavy study schedule is justified for students with large ambitions vis-a-vis score increases. For the two months leading up to the September 2007 exam, I did spend about 15-20 hours a week on the LSAT. It was only near the end of this time did I see substantial and consistent breakthroughs in my practice scores (had been hovering around the high 160s, low 170s, pushed it up to mid to high 170s).
