I'm in the LSP program and I'm registering for classes, but I noticed in the registration handbook for pre-health tracked students it says:
Students planning to major in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics should contact the Pre-
Professional Advising Office at: (212) 998-8160 for fourth course selection advisement.

I called the Professional Advising Office and they did not seem like if they knew what to tell me or even that the handbook referred me to them (the lady actually checked the handbook). Anyone have any idea what to do?

I’m really sorry for commenting and not answering your question, but you’re registering for classes? Are we supposed to be doing that now? I thought that you register during Orientation, which, for LSP, is during Welcome Week. Or are you not a freshman? Please let me know if I’m missing something :-/

Hi, I’m an NYU Soph in LSP, Pre-Med and Neural Science major. I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to register until they send you all the info in the mail in August. Don’t worry about the handbook, they’ll send you a bunch of forms with specific classes and you’ll fill it out and send it back to them.

As an LSP preMed, you’ll take Writing I/II, Cultural Foundations I/II, Social Foundations I/II, and Gen Chem I/II freshmen year. It makes sense to take Chem right away since it’s a prerequisite for Orgo, which you’ll take Soph year, and if you wait til Soph year for Chem you won’t be able to do Orgo til Junior year. I never talked to any advisors before signing up for classes, I just signed up for Gen Chem I and II before classes started in August.

Have you talked to the Liberal Studies Advising Office at 212-998-7269? That’s the number I see on page 4 of the Handbook.

By the way, anyone in LSP, registration for class of ‘2013 is different than the previous years’.

IT IS ONLINE! Registration materials are here:
