Since many MIT students come from places pretty far from Cambridge, we can't simply go home to get stuff or get rid of junk. So a question I pose is, what kind of luggage should we bring? To current MIT-ers, do you have anything you wish you had on campus? How much should we bring? How much kitchen utensils, laundry supplies, etc. should we bring if any?
I know it sounds like kind of a stupid question but I'd appreciate any input! ^_^

anything I wish I had I just get.

I suggested taking one big suitcase and a backpack on board with clothes and limited toiletries. When you get to Cambridge, you'll have time to get more toiletries, buy things for your room, get school supplies, etc etc. You have to pack light =).

will there be much of free stuff for freshman :)?
Just interesting, I saw somewhere Google T-shirt for example

YES. There will. T-shirts will abound, there'll be a lot of trinkets - I have bouncy balls, rulers, tons of stuffed animals, writing utensils, etc from MIT =D.

OMG. This is why I love private colleges.

I am hoping that I'll get lots of free nerdy stuff when i get there!

I already have 3 Google shirts though.... 1 from robotics, 2 from googleplex when we went for math stuff.

Can I haz free MIT shirts? During cpw i saw mini Burton Conner beach balls. They are soo cute.

I have three free MIT (triple rhyme!) t-shirts.

over the course of the year I definitely picked up at least 7 free shirts that I know of. When I get back to campus and unpack my stuff from storage, I'll update that number but it's pretty close ;)
