M.F.A. ....man i'm confused...Please Help

ok so i really like writing. i love reading autobiographys and when i read i get the urge to read. in college i really like the englsih classes i'm taking. most of the classes are workshop classes and writing intensive. and i was thinking (i'm a sophomore in college) about my likes and everything and i think teaching creative writing would be amazing. i would be able to write and help others write. so i was thinking about grad school. an MFA came to mind and i was wondering what everyone thought? is this the right path to go down? is there any money in this? (i know money should not drive my intentions but i mean we all have to eat) any good mfa's out there with a focus in creative non-fiction? any good programs in general? thanks.

Hi there, glad to meet another fellow writing enthusiast.

From what I have found, this all depends on WHAT LEVEL you want to teach creative writing? I want to teach as a professor, so I am looking at a PhD in English or Composition. I had considered an MFA, but with this it seems that you are most likely looking at being an instructor or community college teacher. So, it really all depends on what you are looking for.

Talk to your English professors and see what kind of advice they might have,

Best of luck,
