I'm a mac fan, but was wondering if a pc is better for the Electrical engineering program I will be starting in the fall.
Will there be software issues with a mac?
It's a graduation present so cost isnt a total factor.
Thanks!

Almost everybody will tell you to buy a PC, but I’m a CompE major and I don’t think it matters. You will write papers and use web apps on your laptop, but you won’t need it to run engineering software. ECE majors use Linux more than Mac OS or Windows, and there are many Linux and Windows engineering labs on campus.

Buy a Mac if you want one, if you really need Windows you can get a free copy as an engineering major and install it with boot camp. I use a Macbook Air and dual boot it with linux, if I need a more powerful machine I use the computer labs in the ECE building or the engineering library.
