We are currently in discussion on what type of computer to get. Called the music school and was told to get a Mac. My husband spoke to someone at the book store who said it did not matter. Is McGill more mac friendly or pc?

i doubt it makes a difference normally. However, considering you mentioned calling the music school, you had best get a mac. Macs run the best music programs in the industry. Sure pc has some really good ones, but 10 times out of 10, the best Mac music program is better than the best pc program.

Also macs never get viruses

I saw many people using Mac, so shouldn't be a problem. (McGill is PC friendly but)

...newsflash, the "best mac music program" is also the "best pc music program", and we aren't talking about garageband here, either. The recording industry relies on Pro Tools, and the Pro Tools system is really OS independent, so either system is fine for recording.

I would say go with what you like best, mac or pc because it doesn't really make a difference.

Also, if you don't use your PC like an @$$, you don't get viruses either.
