Mac or PC?

Is it better to have a Mac or PC at Mount Holyoke? Is one more supported by IT than another?

Either are apparently OK at MHC. MHC’s website discusses this in detail.

Also, there is discussion of this at the Facebook page for incoming firsties:

My D will be doing a PC, since I know it best and can help her set it up and help her on a 3AM panic call next year.

Dear Zebby099,

My group of friends had a mix of PC and Mac at Mount Holyoke. Both are supported equally by the MHC technological infrastructure and through LITS’ ([Mount Holyoke College :: LITS](Library, Information, and Technology Services | LITS)) many services.

Sincerely,

Both Mac & PC are well-supported at MHC, but chances are that you’ll have to use LITS’s services quite a bit less with a Mac!

Daughter prefers a PC and has one. She needed help with hers this past year on a couple of occasions and received great service from LITS - we weren’t even aware that she was having problems, as they helped her!
