Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to whether Penn State (Smeal in particular) has a preference for laptop brands. Also, I've been considering getting a tablet such as the iPad to take to class for notes since it's smaller and more portable, and just leaving my laptop in my dorm then transferring the notes to the laptop. Does anyone have any experience with this method or have any thoughts as to if that setup would be worth it?

Pens,

I am planning on buying a new PC (Macs are overpriced), and taking this and only this. I DO own an ipad, but I find it difficult to type on (unless you maybe got the keyboard attachment), and a bit of an inconvenience.

Ok thanks for the feedback jwestbrook. I was debating the tablet method because my parents got me a nice PC laptop for Christmas 2 years ago, but it’s the big 17" model and I feel like that would be tough to carry around campus.

Probably true, I plan on buying a similar size with a case to carry it. I guess it depends on what class it is, a for some I might just take notes on paper and transfer them to a word document later that night.
