It's a hard decision. Initially, I was almost positive that I would go to Macalester, but UMich offered me a really nice financial aid package. When I visited Ann Arbor it was really nice: the people, the campus facilities, and atmosphere was incredible. The student's pride was almost palpable.

I haven't visited Macalester yet, but they offered me a great package as well. Overall, the cost of attending both schools is the same (roughly $2,000). They're both great deals. As of now, UMich has the slight edge because of prestige. But Macalester has the location and curriculum. I don't like one more so than the other. It's really just a question of LAC degree vs University degree. I'm worried about finding a job with an LAC degree--they're not too focused. But I would probably have a LA degree if I attended UMich.

Hmm...

Which one? What are the disadvantages of each type of degree? And how much does prestige account for? Is it more potent than having a lot of internships.(Mac is right in a metro area of three million, finding an internship shouldn't be hard.)
