Madison vs. Minnesota

So I got into both schools. I live near Milwaukee but either school is close enough for me. I'm more interested in choosing based of the academics. Because i know that I will love both schools' campuses in different ways. At Madison I would be in the "School of Letters and Sciences" of Computer science. At Minnesota I got into the Liberal Arts college for a BA in computer science. So basically I don't know which one to choose. Could I get some advice?

Since you like both cities, you might want to look more closely at how the degree requirements differ for that major at the different universities. Do they both require the same amount of math? Would you have to take more foreign language classes at one vs the other university? Did you tour both departments to get a feeling for the undergrad programs at both?

Thats a great idea with looking into the classes. Do you have any knowledge into what classes are beneficial/I should look for in my prospective college?

Are they both offering you the BA or is the BS a possibility at Mad wis?

Also, would you rather live in a big metropolis, or in a college town?
Are the costs similar and within budget?
Did you get invited to the Honors College at either?

Just out of curiosity, why did you apply to UMN-TC CLA for the BA and not CSE for the BS?

At Madison I could get a BS I’m just choosing to get a BA. But at MN I applied to the liberal arts school so it would ‘just’ be a BA.

Why a BA over a BS? Not due to stats?

I had a college friend at Madison that said he recommended getting a BA. Since it gives you a little more diversity in your major.

A BA gives you more flexibility - you’re still free to take the classes that BS students have to take, but if you wish to take others, you can.
