Magic Numbers?

seeing the size of the student body at Mcgill, and taking into account their admissions process, do they basically just look at your grades and scores and if you have the numbers their looking for you get in? in so does anyone know what those numbers would be?(and not just a link to the requirements page) I assume they take into account the difficulty of your highschool and scheduel too, but i would appreciate confrimation on that.
Thanks

Yes, McGill just looks at grades and scores for admission purposes. For major scholarships, they look at other stuff.

I don’t think that McGill tries to evaluate the difficulty of your schedule. I doubt if they try to evaluate the quality of your high school.

The magic numbers vary according to the year and to the program to which you apply.

Are you an American student? The median SAT’s for enrolled freshmen was 2070, the median UW GPA was 3.8/4.0. Science and Desautels have the highest stats. Agriculture/Environment has the lowest stats.

Ya I am American, so is there anyway to get them to look at anything else than scores and grades? Or is that out of the question

Nope. Unless you’re applying for a big scholarship, they only look at grades and test scores.

Does McGill have early decision/if they do does it help?

i don’t know if that’s true though. i’m an american student and i got in and my gpa was only like 3.45 or something, while my sats were 2100. i don’t think i would normally get in with my gpa, but i took challenging courses and went to a more difficult high school. i also had a lot of extracurriculars, summer classes at NYU and Brown (that i did really well in), leadership, and sports. so i would be surprised if i got in with a gpa that is so low for them if they don’t look at anything else.
