My sister has a hare-brained scheme to plan a week vacation together (her husband and 2 teens, me and my husband) with her 1 year old beagle and our 1 year old Saint Bernard. Ideally near lake or ocean with nearby town with some local flavor. We are looking at either Maine or maybe New Brunswick but finding pet- friendly, large enough house, at end of August is the challenge! Any suggestions as to towns to focus on would be appreciated.
Maybe someplace around Acadia National Park? I would look at the map and do a google search. I think you’re right, that may be challenging to find. Good luck!
Let me do some digging. I swear someone stayed at an Inn near Acadia that welcomed dogs. I’ll see if I can find that one.

We stayed at the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge in Bar Harbor last year and they take dogs. Saw a few there when we stayed at least one was a big dog.

Found one! Millbridge maine. None of us has ever been so it will be an adventure (adventure with dogs to be sure!) Thanks for all suggestions
