Hello,
I am a freshman in college and has gotten an interest in becoming an Art Therapist as a backup if my Graphic Design degree does not work out. As of right now, my plan is to major in Graphic Design and minor in Psychology, but I’m thinking about double minoring - adding Child and Family Studies. Whether I double minor or not, I do plan to take summer classes specifically for my minor(s) and then choose to move on to Graduate school for Art Therapy. Should I just minor in one, or is minoring in both a good idea.
P.S. Believe it or not my art classes take up so much of my time. As of right now, I have 3 and they expect us to spend 6 additional hours outside of class to work. That totals up to 18 hours a week just for art. Also, I have 3 other classes. Right now I feel cramped but is hoping my workload will lighten as I become older. This concerns me when thinking about adding minors.
Thank you for your time!
