I am a freshman in the Rutgers Honors College School of Engineering seeking a career in sustainable energy research. My original plan was to major in Chemical Engineering to work with hydrogen fuel cells or batteries, but I found that the department here is almost entirely focused on pharmaceuticals and chemical manufacturing and had no electives or classes suitable to my interests. I tried looking into other majors but ended up overthinking everything and hating all my options because rutgers just generally isn’t suited for sustainability and alternative energy. I am on a full ride so I can’t transfer, so going back to the drawing board, I am interested in computer science, physics (like e/m and thermo, not mechanics) and chemistry (not biology), does anyone have any suggestions on how to pursue my goals?
