Hi I'm a graduating high school student who's planning on going to UT Austin next coming school year. I am planning on receiving a Biology degree through the College of Natural Sciences. However, following my visit to Korea this past summer, I'm very interested in learning the language.

I was wondering if its possible to minor in Asian Cultures and Languages (Korean) through their school of liberal arts while also obtaining a Bachelor's of Biology.

It is currently not possible to receive a minor while obtaining a BS. But what you CAN do is still take Korean classes and claim on your resumes that you have the equivalent of a minor in Korean (this includes two upper division courses in Korean).
But there’s more! As of this moment the College of Natural Sciences is pushing for a new degree plan, a Bachelors of Science and Art! If approved it would go into effect starting in the 2014-2016 catalog.
(I am a Public Health major that wants to minor in Korean, too!)
