<p>This is called having a regret. Some people like them will live with the regret and feel sorry for themselves. Others who truly love what they do will not have regrets at all. I hope to choose the latter.</p>

<p>Maybe at the undergraduate level, but I’m sure the playing field would become even after grad school. Mechanical would however provide better job prospects if you decided that nuclear was not your cup of tea.</p>

<p>I agree with flemmyd. I think a chem e or physics major or even chem major would understand more of conceptually what’s happening with the nuclear processes. Mech E’s I always seem to think of as maintaining/repairing the reactor and turbines in a nuclear setting.</p>
