Major/Minor advice

I'm a college freshman, and I'm planning to major in Biology and minor in City and Regional Planning. What do you think of the combo? I love science, and I love architecture. But people have been telling me to minor in something related to my major :/ So I was thinking of minoring in toxicology and nutritional science, but I thought a minor in something unrelated to my major would give me a sort of "break" from the really technical stuff ya know? I know minors don't really count, but I'm just looking into comments/suggestions/advice.... P.S. I want to go to Med School. Just saying.

Your opinion is important, others opinions are irrelevant. Secondly, you can have multiple majors and minors if you wish so, again it is what you want, not others. Tailoring your academics to whaever/whoever does not work in case of future Med. School application (except you have to take care of required classes). Med. Schools are looking for wide range of interests in application pool, they are looking for people who purued their passions, not followed somebody else’s advice. Stick to what you personally want, it will work.

Boring. :)

And a waste, IMO. Instead of a minor in a related subject, better to complete an honors thesis in your major - greater subject depth and automatic research to add to your app.

btw: just beware, that some architecture programs are as time-intensive as engineering and/or premed. A’s just aren’t easy to obtain.
