I want to double major: English and Psychology, and minor in Education.

  1. how long until I’m allowed to declare double major?
  2. Which major do I declare first, if I can’t declare both at once?
  3. Which should I select when choosing major for college apps?
  4. For campuses where 1 major is impacted but not the other, should I put the impacted or non-impacted major on apps?
  5. How hard is it to still graduate in 4 years while double majoring?

the rules around major declaration vary widely by campus so, there isn’t one answer to your 5 questions above.

if you have some AP credits that are in your area of study, 4 year graduation is doable with a double major and a minor. That too will vary by school though.

Get in as a freshman at a couple of schools in one of your areas of interest (or undeclared), then you can drill down on the individual curriculum, campus vibe and viability of a 4 year graduation. From there make your choice and get studying…
