Majoring and Bs/Md

When you're in a BS/MD program, accelerated or non-accelerated, do you still have to pick a major?
And if you do, let's say you want to major in bio-medical engineering. How do you finish up the number of credits for that course if you're graduating faster? Or am I thinking about it in the wrong way?

Thanks!

Different programs have different options for which majors you can choose. Some, like Penn State’s and Rensselaer’s, don’t let you choose anything other than Biology. Some, like Brown PLME, let you choose any major. Most have certain majors you choose from. Not all allow biomedical engineering, but many do. Drexel allows biomedical, but then you have to take the 8 year program. NJIT and TCNJ allow biomedical in 7 years.

Thank you! This really helped.
