I applied on my own. Can you apply to American universities through an agency though? There are no agencies here; not that I know of. I don’t think that you can, because the application is quite personal, unlike Australian universities.

Another Malaysian studying in the US Feel free to PM me if you have any questions but post them here also.

Isn’t it time we bumped this up?

Hi people. Any Malaysians for the class of 2014?

hey gapyearstudent!!! im a malaysian applicant toO! i didn’t noe there was a malaysian thread,so i created a new one few weeks ago.

gosh now i feel more at home. pretty rare to find malaysians up here!

Haha hey where are you from? Shall we just take it to PM since its just us? Lol, I think most Malaysians are lurking.

Hello! I didn’t know there was a Malaysian thread - I’ve been lurking for a while now

So hey, fellow Malaysians!

hello !

Hello. Mind to state your current stats?

Hi guys im hoping to apply to University of Washington, Seattle. I’m currently doing IB finishing up in 2012. And in the application they requested highschool transcripts, is it possible for me to use IB semester results + PMR and SPM results? my trials and semester results in high school were…awful to say the least heh. Also would and SAT score of 1800 be decent? I’m not applying for the ivies, more towards public ones like U of Michigan, Texas, etc.

You’ll have to ask the colleges, some require all grades. And for some others pmr and spm would suffice.

IMO you should retake the SATs, I am planning an October retake too. But if you can pay the full fees, I suppose you don’t have to as I’m sure your schools will be more than happy to take in a full-paying international.

Just my two cents, I am after all applying as a freshman this December. So I’m not too sure about everything.

Good luck!

I’m retaking the exam in october too

Are you suggesting that a full-paying international student stands a higher chance?

I’m also a newcomer from KL, going to study at Southern New Hampshire Uni, currently studying ADP at HELP

albacore: I suppose that would be the case considering the founding of public universities is mainly aimed at providing affordable college education to citizens of their respective states. Full paying internationals could very well offset the high amount of subsidies they offer to in-state students.

Read that somewhere while doing college research, but I suppose high ranked public schools such as michigan would probably be pretty darn competitive too, considering the amount of brilliant AND rich internationals all around the world vying for admission.

Hey fellow malaysians! Anyone applying EA or ED?

Finally found a Malaysian thread! But it seems to be pretty inactive… =S

Lol very inactive, hahah , need some aDvice for application to UNI

A bump for this thread! Any Malaysians here for class of 2017??

Hello guys! A Malaysian applying to the states as well! Here I am for class 2017! Let’s rekindle the thread again!
