Hi, My daughter had previously taken the PSAT and I signed her up separately for the SAT since that is not offered at her school (only the ACT). She has accommodations (extra time) and this may be why there’s an issue but I’m not sure.
Her ticket says “Testing Site: See Below” and then below it says “See your Coordinator for the date, time, and location to report to for testing.”
I thought maybe this was due to the accommodations, so I called her special ed coordinator. But she said there was no one at the school who had any SAT info, as it was not being given at the school.
I called the College Board and went back and forth with a woman who said to do what I’d already done. She then switched to saying that I was supposed to call the coordinator at the site where she’ll be testing. But I don’t know that! So then she gave the me the 3 or 4 closest locations and said she would call me back after checking with them.
In the meantime I called the closest test center which is a local university. I called several people there, and got transferred on to several more. All I learned is that apparently not a single person who works at the U is aware that they are a testing center and that they supposedly have a testing coordinator.
I got home yesterday to a message from the lady at College Board who told me that since my student is home-schooled, I will have to coordinate with the school test center. She is not home-schooled and that word never even came up in our conversation! And of course she never mentioned an actual school name.
I feel like I’m in some weird CC version of the Twilight Zone.
Of course I’m calling back tomorrow, but in the meantime I thought I’d just rant about it and at the same time see if anyone has ever had a similar problem and what the solution was!
