haha im glad i guessed 60 on that triangle. my reasoning was retarded too.

Yeah, I feel pretty stupid/inadequate/insert derogatory term here for not applying basic right triangle trigonometry.

Oh well; any guesses on what scale score a -1 on the Math section might project to?

I think it will be around 770 -780... The Nov. test ( math was crazily easy) was 770 for -1... This time's is slightly harder so I'd say 780

if you're lucky, -1 is an 800 in math.

highly doubt that... this month's math was too easy for that kind of curve

UcMichigan, I'm pretty sure it specifically said in the passage that she was happy not because she was getting a sister, but because her mother used the word "another".

The passage specifically said that she liked the fact that the Chinese girl would be "in addition to" her and not "in place of" her.

Ok, so basically, CR was killer for me. Usually, I'm a pretty solid CR guy (around a 700). This CR, however, was impossible. The passages weren't even that difficult (although the photography passage and the Kwan passage weren't easy), it's just that the vocabulary was like nothing I have ever seen. Usually I ace vocab, and find it very straightforward. It wasn't even the words that were hard this time, it was just overall the sentences didn't give adequate support to indicate which word was THE word.

Anyway, what kind of curve will this translate to be on the CR portion? I'm praying I got the score I wanted on math and writing, but I know i bombed on CR.

Also, my most important point, do colleges really take your highest combined score? To what extent is it true that they will JUST look at the highest I got in each section?

most colleges don't take your highest combined score... not from what I've heard of....

check post #842... it has a "rough" curve that was generated by CC community

how do you cancel your score and when do you have to do it by for the march test?

what was the question about Riis pointing the finger? I don't think I remember answering such a question, which means I'm majorly screwed cause I probably misbubbled an entire CR section. Did it ask what the photographer was trying to accomplish?

'"The passage specifically said that she liked the fact that the Chinese girl would be "in addition to" her and not "in place of" her."'

ohh...that makes sense... wow.. TT__TT

What am I looking at with about...
-6 CR
-4 Math
-0 Writing?

for the three semi circle question...is the answer 4pi for sure?

i thought it was 16pi...

and caligrl8), you have to cancel before 11:59 tomorrow (wed) by faxing them.

wow i can't believe i mistook highest for most... there goes my 800 in math.

kiiraeii ... yes I'm sure it is 4pi... I posted the solution in this thread already... search for it

"-6 CR
-4 Math
-0 Writing?"

That would be:

CR

-8 points = around 720 (give or take 20 points)

Math

-5 points = 700-710

Writing (with Essay 12....?)

haha.

My prediction:

-8 CR
-0 Math
-1 Writing

Translation:

CR: - 10 = around 700 (give or take 20 pts)
Math: - 0 = 800 =)
Writing: -1 (with essay 11?) = 790 - 800??

so the score should be upper 2200's ... hopefully

why is CR soo generous with the curve.. i BETTER get atleast in the 700's or i will be VERY Shocked. i wish it was like that for math..hahah.

haha well... last time i missed 12 and i got 650 in CR... so if they stick with that curve... maybe I'll get 680 - 700 this time

highly doubt that... this month's math was too easy for that kind of curve

well.. you never know. i thought december 06's math was really easy and -1 there was an 800... -2 was a 780!
