All i can say is **** ***** ***** *****, i cannot express how mad i am, yesterday playing football i made to kid bleed from his mouth, he had braces and it was an accident though. I got a 98% percent in the Reading, 97% in the math, and 95% in writing (PSAT) :).
BUT IN THE ACTUAL SAT I GET
CR:530
M:700
W:530
Is this even possible?

What ever though nothing i can do now but prepare for the next one (first time), stay positive, plus my friend told me that there was some kind of luck in it. Maybe next time is my time to own the sat. COngrats to the lucky guys that got good scores.

@joker23, personally i think that a good score (2300+) on the sat is 30% studying 20% innate smartness (… like you were just kinda born with that way of thinking) and 50% luck… don’t worry, your high psat score means that you have that 20%. and with some studying (and some luck lol), you’ll get a really high score next time!!

@ xiaohyolee i hope that you are right, i swear when i saw that score it was like someone punched me in the stomach, i could not believe it, i mean i knew that i had not done good but not that bad. I had a headache, my calculator ran out, and my teacher lady did not let us go out in one break, over all it was a disaster. Maybe next time i will use this as a lesson and learn from it. Thx for the help.

Math: 790
Reading: 570
Writing: 530
Essay: 10

1360 and 1890 =(

0 wrong, 1 omitted = 790. I had the right answer for the one I omitted for the math and then erased it at the last minute… it was that stupid a = b question. =( My other scores suck… I wrote a bunch of crap in my essay so I guess the readers agreed with my criticism and rebellious ideas lol (10/12)!

How do you get such high scores on the reading/writing? I find it impossible (mildly dyslexic). I got a 5 on my AP english exam but I can’t break a 600 on those sections of the SAT. ***?

Did the (first) test with absolutely no practice…Kinda regret that but anyway I got

Math - 790 (ahh one stupid mistake)
Reading - 590 (Can’t get over 600 >.<;
Writing - 700 (69/80 MC & 9/12 essay)

Total - 2080 (really wanted to get at least 2200,and get it over and done with)

I’m scared to death of the Reading section…cuz i can’t improve on it…I guess I’ll have to depend solely on luck on my next test…

any advices?

Test-taking strategies and familiarity with the test. Those two tests are very, very different.

I suggest you take a practise, when you take it find which of the 2 types of questions you have problems with, for example i took one today and found i have serious problems with vocabulary. No really, i did not get one right (of the vocabulary questions), for this reason im going to buy the DIRECT HIT books and try to improve my vocabulary. If you do bad in the other questions then i suggest you read the NYTIMES every day, i have done it for 2 days and has improved my reading a lot. In my sat i got a 530 on reading but after doing this just for 2 days i got a 600 (PRACTICE) :D

I should retake a 2080 right?

CR- 660
MA- 710
WR- 710

I was shocked at the CR… :(… but it was ****ing hard… "/

IF this is your first or second time then YES, there is nothing you can lose, ohh wait i forgot the 45 dollars.

You might qualify for a waiver. I haven’t had to pay for any of my SATs, ACTs, or AP exams.

@112358:

Same here, I thought I missed one M.C. and one grid-in, but apparently I was very wrong. Yay, we can wallow in our math misery together. Until next time. :P

Thankfully, -2 does not round to -3. If the curve was bad, a -2 could have been a 790, but now that you mentioned it, maybe it was a -4 after all. In that case I got way more wrong that I even dreamed. :P

@sushi_lub & meeshkaa: A 240/270 point increase? Now that gives me a spark of hope! Many congrats. :D

K thanks… does everyone agree that the CR was harder than usual? (and so was the math a little; it’s usually my best section - i got an 80 on the psat "/)

I hope that the CR section for March’s test was relatively difficult, because next time I take the test (probably in October), I wanna be able to breeze through that section

I just want to do better next time. I had a 197 PSAT, so I was expecting at least a 2000.

We all see how well that philosophy turned out, heh.

I don’t know if I agree that CR was that difficult. I usually do worst on that section (on the PSAT’s at least, since that’s the only thing I can compare it to since I never did any practice tests or anything) and it was by best section along with Writing, on both of which I scored a 740.

800 (11)
800
CR: 730

2330

2190 first time to 2330 second time

should I think of taking the ACT or will SAT be enough? there are people at my school that are taking both

I thought CR vocab was a bit harder than normal; passages were average.
