Lol I just looked at the average SAT for the public school that is like five minutes away, it’s HIGHER!

^ is there a place to look that stuff up?

The county district here has a profile online for each of the public schools.

This is blowing my mind, wth are my parents paying for?

Yep, 3 incorrect translates to -4. Those quarter points are killers.

I’ve been upset about -2 not being 800, but I guess I should just be glad with my 790. If I had gotten one more wrong, I would have missed 2300 by a fair margin.

everyone on this whole site is really smart… i got

a 1770

:-(

That’s two-fifty above average, go feel good about yourself.

My score report has really confused my about the math section. I know two of the questions I got wrong, but I figured the other two questions I missed were easy ones. Turns out I missed three hard and one medium, which is weird because we discussed virtually all the hard ones on the math thread and I only had two of them wrong.

Is anyone else unnerved by the retake predictions part? Apparently, my CR on average would go down 35 and writing would go down 75.

gawwww I ended up with

590 CR
790 Math
700 Writing…I got -4 and 9 on the essay, why is my writing score THIS low?

because ur essay score isnt that good…9/12

my school is effing stupid. i prob got the highest score in my whole school. people freaked out at my score.

what’d you get pigsatsea?

2290
10char

What sections did you miss your questions in? I got the same number wrong as you but a 2310.

That is only assuming that you don’t study in between tests, which obviously isn’t the case for many.

OMG the curve was CRUEL for CR… seriously
I thought I got at least 13-15wrong cuz I got 630
but it turned out that I got only 9 wrong
What the heck… isn’t that suppose to be like 650???
Shouldn’t there be a bigger curve for the CR? I thought it was freaking hard
esp. the passage about the programmer/writer one…
oh well, guess i have to take it again in October.

Join the unhappy-with-the-CR-curve club :)

“Is anyone else unnerved by the retake predictions part? Apparently, my CR on average would go down 35 and writing would go down 75.”

Yeah, it’s sorta alarming. It’s sorta hard to replicate such a high score.

The main reason people retake with a 790 or whatever is because they did much worse on the other sections. The high scores regress to the mean.

There are probably only a few who take it again because they think they can get an 800. Among this group, the score drop is probably smaller or even nonexistent.

Makes sense.

It’s still kind of disconcerting, though, because it suggests that a lot of people get high scores through luck.

Wait I got a 630 on CR and I got 11 wrong… is that accurate? I’m not sure how to estimate scores based on how many I got wrong…
