Congrats!!! Good luck to everyone this week.
Yay, @unscripted! I hope more will follow.
I am wishing you all the best this week!!! D received an email from a Professor at that elusive, reach school yesterday, saying she had recommended her admission, asking her to consider joining her studio, offering a trial lesson, and saying she is happy to answer any questions! We expect to hear from said Reach by the end of the week, if previous years’ dates hold true. How will we make it through the week??? And D has been invited to call the director of an outside foundation today that may be willing to fund part of her education at a different school, with a less storied reputation and fewer opportunities, but where we both LOVED the faculty and feel, and believe they really care! This is so hard! I mean, we are very grateful to have choices, but our financial need is great, and I am officially nervous! Any words of wisdom, fellow parents???
Go Badgers.
When we were down 57-50 against Villanova and missing free throws right and left, I posted on FB that a team that shoots less than 50% from the line doesn’t deserve to win.
Apparently that negative post was just the boost I had intended, because they finished the game on a 15-5 run. haha
Things to do to take you mind off the wait:
Put in your vegetable garden (Happy spring!)
Clean out your junk drawer
Binge watch The Americans (or some other series you’ve been meaning to get to)
Start writing tear-stained thank you notes to the people who have invested in your kid to help him/her get this far
Organize your Spotify lists
Do the work you are getting paid for at your day job. (I’m a freelancer, so it makes it really hard not to peek at what’s going on throughout the day.)
Anyone else? How are you passing the time?
@dramasopranomom Congratulations on the good news your D has received. That’s very exciting. I think a lot of us need money to make these schools happen. Other than our in-state options, we certainly can’t pay sticker price. No advice, but we can be officially nervous together.
@classicalsaxmom, congrats to your S for all the good news! I like your attitude about sorting through the options. It’s possible that a program (albeit a big name) just doesn’t feel like the right fit - it might not only be about lack of confidence.
Good one @BassTheatreMom. How about:
Watch the real March Madness (hoops) and cheer for the colleges to advance still pending for a decision and/or financial package on your son/daughter so the administration is in a better mood to be more generous.
Thank you @BassTheatreMom !! And I am definitely going to take your advice and perhaps do some gardening and tear stained thank you notes today!
Miami frost just posted. Good luck to everyone
@coloraturadad - sadly, that ship sailed for us after NU lost to Gonzaga.
S is playing in a concert right now. I would love to know the Frost status, but only S knows his CaneLink…
No worries @BassTheatreMom, they are still ecstatic. This is the first time ever they were at the tournament.
BTW, my D just texted me she was accepted at Frost. Thanks @beaglemom for the heads up. It’s posted on the portal, no email yet. Good luck to all!
S was also accepted at Frost. Now to wait for money - which we seem to be doing for all the schools (except our state institutions).
S is admitted to Frost. Jazz bass.
Fabulous!
Our child also was admitted.
Congrats to everyone! I am happy it came out tonight. I was getting worried about it.
Money posted now
Congratulations, Fosties! Also, how wonderful that the $ awards also came tonight!
