Marie Walsh Sharpe Summer Seminar 2012

Dammit, I wish they used email like everyone else. This waiting is so suspenseful.

Seriously, same with the CD/slide thing, you would think that there would be an option to submit the portfolios/application stuff online.

Alternate. enjoy my lucky ducks.

I’m curious as to where you guys are located. I live up in a corner in Seattle so I thought that might be the reason why I haven’t received any notification yet. Oh well I’m not too worried if I don’t get in, just means I gotta draw more :D

Hope you can get in still saffy!

i live in seattle too, i got my official letter today in the mail.

Hey guys, I applied as well and I haven’t received my letter yet. Do you think that means I’m not an alternate or a finalist? I never really planned on getting into this program; it’s extremely difficult to get into as you all know(btw, congrats penicltown!). I would be happy to be an alternate considering how noteworthy of a program it is!

Wow penciltown we should totally meet up and go life drawing or something.

Drawingjess: Nobody knows! I am fairly certain they send rejection letters and I would assume that they send those at the same time as acceptance letters.

yah i’m down for a gage open studio. i’ll pm you and add you on le fb. i’m not sure if they send out rejection letters drawingjess. it would make sense though that they would. anyways i think they sent out all the letters at once so don’t read too much into your local snail mail system. good luck!

ok thanks! What do you guys think the acceptance rate of the program is? We know that only 60 get in, but do you guys have a rough idea of how many apply? Is this a well known program in your area?

15%. This is a pretty arbitrary guess though. I’d say don’t worry about it and just wait for the mail to come. And if you’re in, you’re in! And if not, no worries, it just means you gotta practice more this summer so that you make them regret not choosing you when you’re famous. Haha :)

Got my letter today, rejected.

Made me sad for a second but I’m good again. Good luck/have fun to the rest of ya!
