Marilee Jones starts a "second act"

“I doubt that MJ feels any shame in peddling her wares”

Clearly.

@siserune, post #140–hey, I’m a moralist in real life, also.

[Ashley Dupre](Ask Ashley) has been given a column to answer love & relationship issues for the NY Post. MJ is at least as qualified to answer college admissions questions.

A “finger in the eye” means a huge insult. It does not mean an intellectual refutation.

Jones, through her employment, promotion, and self-promotion while at MIT, “put a finger in the eye” of American credentialism from within one of its centers. She did so in the most spectacular way possible short of striking the far more deserving credentialist temple down the street.

It was a rare spectacle of performance art. After the show, MIT still has some cleaning up to do. Only full, visible faculty control of the admissions would have undone the prank. The public statements (here and elsewhere) of the Marilee Jones hires still working in the admissions office indicate that they endorse her work, and until there is a complete repudiation, the finger remains in that eye.

^Oh, I understand what you meant, now. Thanks.
