<p>Just had my interview with my BGO yesterday, and it went pretty well. The only part I was a little confused about was when I mentioned that I planned to join the Marine Corps if offered admission, he kind of looked surprised. When I asked him why, he said that not a lot of people said that. Did I break some sort of unspoken rule by telling this Navy guy that I planned to go into the Marines? I always thought that the Marines made up a significant number of midshipman at the academy, so I was surprised when he told me that only a few kids had said such a thing in 5 years.</p>
<p>Haha, I wonder why he reacted like that...I said Marines too, as do many candidates, and it was no big deal. About 16% of graduating Mids get commissioned into the Marine Corps.</p>
<p>You gotta tell the BGO what's on your heart. My kiddo made it clear from the beginning she wanted Marines and her BGO had no problem with that. Now that she's completed PPW at USNA....her interest only grows towards a Commission as a 2/LT USMC! GO NAVY - BEAT ARMY</p>
