Marketing Major/Communications Minor GOOD CHOICE??

So I am looking to major in either Marketing/Advertising or Communications (Broadcasting/Media) in college. My first choice would be to major in marketing/advertising and minor in communications. This is because of how I have heard that majoring in a type of business (marketing/advertising) will provide a better job market right after college. I personally enjoy marketing products and designing creative advertisements for them. But I really like communications and am looking to be a type of TV producer or broadcaster in the future. I have heard from many people that you don't necessarily need a communications major to earn the top jobs - you just need to get internships in order to move up.

OK, I have a few questions based on these personal preferences. Is is best for me to major in marketing and minor in communications? How about double majoring - is that a ton more work? Oh yeah - is advertising a part of marketing or a part of communications (because that's my favorite subject)?

You may find more on this in the business major section of CC. You may really limit your school choice when you focus on marketing as a major, though, and you should also focus on the best general academic quality you can get with your qualifications.
