Hello, I am currently a student at a community college in MA. I am currently enrolled in an A.S environmental science program. I plan on transferring to a state school to finish my B.S. in environmental science, most likely Umass Amherst, but I am open to suggestions if anyone has experience or knowledge of that program at other schools. Anyway, my program does not qualify for MASS transfer. I was thinking about not getting my A.S and just completing the block and transferring when i am done, but looking at Umass amherst's environmental science program it looks like the classes I would have to take to complete the block aren't even part of the program, and the classes i'd have to skip over are part of the program. I was just wondering what people with experience think is the best option. Should I finish my A.S and take the classes that I will need at my transfer school? Or do I complete the Mass transfer block to make it an easier transfer? My GPA after 1 semester is low...2.77...but Im sure I can bring it up to at least 3.0 over my next 3 semesters. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help me out!!

You should look into possibly transferring to other UMass campuses. I know that UMass Lowell makes it easy for transfers students from Community Colleges and tries to accept all classes for credit.
