<p>MamaSparrow- Thanks- yes, we are very proud, and very relieved, and very nervous, and very excited, and even tearful at times and at times just plain overwhelmed with all these emotions....and I know this is being repeated over and over in so many households~ </p>
<p>best of luck with your daughter's decision for USNA or ND- she can't go wrong either way- ND is every bit as outstanding as USNA....and they, too, have a great crew program if she decides to go that route (and a nice lake to row on!) What impressed me at ND was how much the NROTC program was embraced by the student body- and how respected the program/kids were within the campus- it was terriffic to see- don't know if she is considering that route, but I do recall how impressive the kids were that we got to talk to during our visit there.</p>
<p>Decisions- so hard- but such a sense of relief when they get made- Best of luck!</p>

<p>I called my RD to see what's up as I haven't received any hard mail yet, but she told me I was given the appointment on April 10. She guessed that because I was calling that I would accept, I told her that's a definite yes!</p>

<p>I received the same response DMeix via email. Of course I received a call from both my Senator and local Congresswoman even before I received the email. The packet came in today, finally. 8 days is long time for a mail. Guess they sent it VERY snail mail. </p>
<p>By the way, what does this say about each academy?</p>
<p>-the United States Military Academy appointee packet was well put together. Looked clean, concise, and very 'West Point.' The admissions letter was Huah as well, straight from the Supe.
-Both the US Coast Guard Academy and the USAFA sent a flimsy folder with paperwork. The letter from the USAFA didnt even bear the signature of the Superintendent.
-The Naval Academy packet was together. Had a nice hard cover folder, but nowhere as nice as West Point's. Sadly the paperwork I have to complete looks like photo copies of photo copies, haphazardly stuffed into a half size envelope. The folder and certificate makes it seem more prestigious than Air Force, but Air Force looked much "cleaner."</p>
<p>(How many people have a chance to compare 4 of the academies appointment packets?? I'll stop bragging now, sorry!)</p>
<p>Actually a lot of people on here have had the chance to compare 3+ appointment packages...by and far the people on here are very motivated, I think, and that helps explain why so many people receive multiple appointments...you are indeed not alone, ragman.</p>
<p>This is just me, but I never even considered USMA or USAFA.</p>
<p>From the start, USNA was the only place I ever wanted to go.</p>
