Master of Science -> Debt: is it worth it?

<p>Hello there,
I was wondering about starting a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering unpaid..</p>

<p>Is it worth it to pay 40k $ or more per year?</p>

<p>Do you suggest me to apply to places that offer funding or also to those who don't give money?</p>

<p>For example: Stanford, Purdue, USC and other don't offer funding to enrolling MS students.</p>

<p>I think the debt would be huge.. What do you think?</p>

<p>PS: I'm an international applicant, a MS in my country (Italy) costs around 2-3k $ of tuition per year..</p>

<p>Out of curiosity, if tuition is so cheap in Italy, why would you consider doing a masters degree in the United States where tuition is so expensive and your odds of acceptance are low?</p>

<p>Maybe because Italian Universities are out of best 100 universities of the world…
And 'cos there’s a world out of here, an internationalized curriculum vitae is always well regarded…</p>

<p>In my opinion,40K$ per year is very very high.
Why don’t you try universitiess with good funding or a little lesser tuition fee?
Also,do your research on job oppurtunities after your course.
Are you planning to work in US for sometime,say 2-3 years? Then you may be able to earn back whatever your MS costed you. But, again job oppurtunities are different for internationals here and also depends on your major
I am planning my MS too,but I’m looking at no more than $10000 per year.</p>
